Kaufmann Mercantile is an online emporium led by founder and CEO Sebastian Kaufmann that curates fine-made products from over 300 manufacturers in more than 20 countries. The site sells home accessories, kitchenware, original sundries and outdoor tools. To date the company has sold almost 180,000 products and reports lifetime revenue of nearly $6m. The company plans to use new capital to hire people and increase marketing. It also intends to launch its first private-label, in-house produced line in early 2015. That private label will target products in stagnant markets or those lacking a balance of quality and price.
