Kayko

KG 622 St, Kimihurura 4th Floor, Kigali, Rwanda

Overview

Founded in 2021 by brothers Crepin and Kevin Kayisire, Kayko offers a point-of-sale–based micro-ERP system that lets small and medium-sized enterprises manage expenses, track inventory, process payments and record sales in real time. By digitising these day-to-day transactions, the platform generates reliable financial data that can be fed into credit-scoring models and other financial products. More than 8,500 SMEs reportedly use Kayko each day for bookkeeping, inventory management and tax compliance. The company positions itself as the data layer between informal business activity and formal financial services, aiming to help banks “see” SME performance. With its newly raised capital, Kayko plans to deepen data-driven lending, expand credit-scoring capabilities and strengthen its technical infrastructure. The founders ultimately want routine business operations to translate directly into working-capital access for African SMEs.
