Kbox Global operates a "host kitchen" platform that digitises and brands underused commercial kitchens (pubs, hotels, restaurants, supermarkets) so they can run delivery-first takeout operations without upfront costs. The company provides tech, training, recipes and a multicuisine suite of delivery brands, charging on a per-order basis so host kitchens share in revenue upside. Its AI and machine-learning analytics forecast demand, optimise menus, minimise waste and improve staff utilisation to boost profitability. Kbox says there is no upfront franchise fee or equipment investment for partner kitchens, and that it only makes money when host kitchens do. The startup has partnered with kitchens across London, Manchester, Liverpool, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Brighton and is targeting 2,000 operational U.K. kitchens before the end of 2021. An international rollout via franchise agreements is underway, with launches in Australia and India this month and plans for a further eight countries next year.
