Overview

Keep began in 2014 as an at-home workout video service and has built an ecosystem of fitness influencers, course designers, streaming coaches and operational staff supporting its video-streaming business. The app has served over 300 million users and signed up 100 million users within its first three years. Its main revenue driver is membership fees from 10 million users who receive personalized services. Keep has diversified into hardware and consumer products, including an internet-connected stationary bike with video instructions, apparel, treadmills, smart wristbands and health-conscious snacks. It launched foreign versions of its app in 2018 and was active on Western social networks through spring 2019. The company said the funding will be used to improve services and products and to serve fitness professionals, and it currently has no plans to go public. Keep is a Beijing-based workout app that provides fitness coaching to users. The app has approximately 30 million subscribers. Keep recently launched an ecommerce site offering fitness-related products. The company intends to use the funds to continue developing the app and to grow its ecommerce platform. Its core product combines workout coaching with retail for fitness goods. Keep raised $32m in a Series C to support those plans.
