Keka is a B2B SaaS HR tech platform that automates payroll, recruiting, leave and attendance, performance management, and other HR tasks for SMEs with 20–5,000 employees. Founded by Vijay Yalamanchilli in 2015 as a bootstrapped company, Keka reached a 100-customer milestone in 2017 and grew rapidly thereafter. The company says it has already begun augmenting its product and bolstering customer support following the raise. Keka plans to invest the funding primarily in R&D and to expand its engineering, product, and customer success teams. The CEO framed the round as validation of the company’s approach and emphasized finding a long-term investment partner. Keka’s stated mission is to build a world-class product in India that can serve the global market and to create “awesome” employee experiences.
