KellBenx is a New York City-based biotechnology company focused on developing non-invasive prenatal diagnosis (NIPD) for genetic and inherited disorders. Founded in 2010, the company is led by Hassan Bennani, MD, CEO, and Leonard H. Kellner, President. It is developing a minimally invasive blood test intended to identify pregnancy risks ranging from pre-term birth to genetic conditions. In April 2011 KellBenx secured $2.5M in its first funding round from three biotechnology venture-capital groups and one angel investor. The company plans to use the proceeds to conduct a clinical trial and laboratory testing of the test.
