Kelvin

63 Flushing Avenue, Brooklyn Navy Yard Building 303, Suite 702, Brooklyn, NY, 11205, United States

Overview

Kelvin, formerly Radiator Labs, started with the Cozy radiator cover that launched on Kickstarter and has evolved from cloth covers for renters to sleeker metal covers offered to buildings under a subscription. The company currently sells its covers via a subscription priced around $10–$15 per apartment per month. Kelvin announced a $30 million Series A led by climate tech investor 2150; Schmidt Family Foundation (aka Google money), Partnership Fund for NYC (aka private equity money) and several previous investors also participated. The company declined to share its valuation. It will use the funds to expand into the U.K., Germany and other parts of Europe and plans to begin offering heat pumps later this year. Kelvin said the name change reflects an expanded technology scope focused on upgrading temperature control for occupied spaces in the most cost-efficient way possible.
