Overview
Kensho provides financial institutions with real-time statistical computing systems and scalable analytics that answer complex financial questions posed in plain English. It automates previously human-intensive knowledge work using massively-parallel statistical computing, user-friendly visual interfaces and advances in unstructured data engineering. Led by CEO Daniel Nadler, the platform answers millions of permutations of complex financial questions. The company closed a $15M investment round on November 24, 2014, led by Goldman Sachs. As part of the financing Goldman entered a strategic partnership to use Kensho’s technology across the firm, and Goldman executives joined its board and advisory board. Kensho was founded out of MIT and Harvard in 2013 and is based in Cambridge, MA. Kensho builds cloud intelligent computer systems that answer complex financial and market research questions posed in natural language. Its flagship product, "Warren", is a virtual market research assistant designed to shorten investment research cycles from days to minutes by answering distinct natural-language queries about the impact of global events on asset prices. The service is built on NASDAQ OMX FinQloud, a cloud platform designed for the financial services sector, and is currently being tested by a select set of asset managers and research teams. Kensho aims for the system to be able to answer 100 million distinct types of complex financial questions by the end of 2014. The company raised $10m in seed funding. Leadership includes CEO Daniel Nadler, CTO Pete Kruskall, and Lead Engineer Nicolai Krakowiak.
