Kenzz
Greek Campus Downtown, Cairo, Al Qahirah, Egypt
Overview
Kenzz is an Egyptian e-commerce platform built to deepen e-commerce adoption in Egypt and the wider MENA region by focusing on the mass market. Its core product is a social, B2C marketplace that sources directly from local manufacturers and importers, removes resellers, and offers group-buying discounts of up to 65%. The company soft-launched for two months and saw thousands of customers use the platform, with 50% of orders coming from outside Egypt’s largest cities. Kenzz’s model aims to lower customer acquisition and logistics costs by enabling collective purchases and single-location deliveries. The founding team — Ahmed Atef, Mahmoud Al Silk and Moataz Sami — includes experience from Vodafone, Google, Amazon and Jumia, which investors cited as a reason to back the startup. Kenzz plans to use its seed funding to widen product categories, hire talent, invest in technology and launch its app.
