Kereos develops therapeutics and imaging agents targeting cancer and cardiovascular disease. Its pipeline includes four programs: an MRI agent for tumor detection, a targeted chemotherapy for solid tumors, an MRI agent to detect cardiovascular disease, and an anti-restenotic therapy. The company recently raised $5.6 million in equity to further develop these drugs and imaging agents. About $1 million of that amount was cash and the remainder came from conversion of outstanding convertible notes into equity. Historically, Kereos completed a $20 million Series B in 2005 intended to advance its lead tumor-destroying chemotherapy through Phase 1 and 2 trials. Public materials appear sparse—no press release since 2006 and an out-of-date website—raising uncertainty about current operations despite the new funding.
