Overview

Kespry provides a subscription-based drone service offering an end-to-end hardware and software solution for industrial customers. Founded in 2013, the company focuses on mining and aggregates, construction, insurance, and energy use cases. It offers tools such as volumetric measurements of stockpiles generated from drone imagery. CEO George Mathew says Kespry has more than 300 customers, with over 200 in the mining and aggregates sector and more than 40 customers added in the past 12 months. The company attributes its traction to its subscription model and integrated hardware-plus-software offering. Kespry also participates in Salesforce’s Pledge 1% program, contributing one percent of employees’ time to corporate social responsibility efforts. Kespry develops industrial drone solutions that combine aerial data capture with machine learning analytics to automate inspections and claims decisions. The company focuses on industrial use cases including mining and aggregates, insurance claims, construction, and more recently oil and gas. Kespry emphasizes safety, efficiency and accuracy versus traditional methods and differentiates itself from hobbyist drone use through its data and ML algorithms (for example, automatically assessing roof damage after storms). The company reports roughly 150 mining customers and about 200 customers overall. Kespry currently has around 100 employees and its CEO, George Mathew, joined at the beginning of the year after serving as Alteryx COO and president. With the new funding the company expects to double headcount in the next year and pursue more international expansion and additional channel partners. Kespry provides a full‑stack automated drone system and data‑intelligence platform for commercial customers in construction, aggregates, and surveying. The product enables companies to collect, analyze, and share aerial information at scale, producing stockpile volumes, contour maps, and 3D models. Kespry’s system increases survey frequency and efficiency—current customers average over ten flights per month versus traditional monthly, quarterly, or annual surveying. The company has more than doubled in size in the past twelve months and is hiring engineering and service teams while moving into a larger Menlo Park headquarters to support growth. Kespry has been rapidly deployed at dozens of leading companies, including three of the top five construction materials firms in North America and customers such as Fluor, Lehigh Hanson/Heidelberg, Webcor, and Woolpert. The company has also partnered with NVIDIA on a deep‑learning module to enable automatic identification and tracking of objects from drone data. Kespry builds an integrated commercial-grade drone system that covers mission planning, aerial data capture, cloud-based analytics, and image delivery. The company is shipping an off-the-shelf system designed for commercial customers and emphasizes safety, reliability, and ease of use. Kespry targets construction, agriculture, mining, and other commercial markets and focuses on allowing enterprises to capture useful visual imagery without managing drone operations. The product integrates high-performance onboard computing, advanced sensor-processing algorithms, and high-throughput wireless communications to enable advanced features and safer operation. Founded in 2013 and based in Menlo Park, Kespry controls the design of key components to accelerate functionality delivery and ensure reliability. The company plans to use the new financing to accelerate go-to-market activities and further product development.
