Khipu offers a software platform that employs artificial intelligence and optical character recognition (OCR) to digitize invoices and receipts, automatically handle accounting entries, validate documents, and manage approval workflows. By replacing the region’s largely manual and bureaucratic expense‐reporting practices, the company says it can eliminate 5–10 % of the annual revenue that many firms currently lose to internal processing costs. After beginning with small- and medium-sized enterprises, Khipu is now targeting mid-market and large corporations, where operational savings are more pronounced. The startup plans to expand beyond its home market of Peru into Chile first and then Colombia in 2026. Its 2026 operating targets include reaching 250 corporate customers and achieving US$100,000 in monthly recurring revenue. To support this growth, Khipu has raised an initial US$150,000 and is eyeing an additional US$500,000–US$1 million later this year if milestones are met.
