Kickboard is a New Orleans-based startup launched in 2009 that provides a platform to help teachers and schools capture, analyze and share student performance data. The product offers one-click data capture, detailed charts and graphs, customizable progress reports and real-time visibility into assessment results, standards mastery, reading level and student behavior and character strengths. It aims to complement traditional student information systems by building richer student profiles and facilitating teacher collaboration and parent communication. Kickboard is in use at 200 schools across 20 states and reports educators accessing the platform numerous times throughout the school day. The company offers free starter accounts to individual teachers and small teams of up to three while continuing enterprise rollouts. With the new funding, Kickboard plans to accelerate development of its analytics platform and aims to become a classroom staple alongside crayons and chalkboards.
