Kids on 45th
2457 E Interlaken Blvd, Seattle, WA, 98112, United States
Overview
Kids on 45th turned a decades-old Seattle consignment shop into an e-commerce service that ships curated boxes of used kids clothing at steep discounts. The company sources “nearly new” garments via partnerships with nonprofits and thrift organizations and sorts inventory into roughly 350 categories at a Texas warehouse. It has shipped about 500,000 items and operates with roughly 15 employees in Seattle plus 15 in the Texas warehouse. Items sell for as low as $1.99 each (an average of $3.29), and the CEO says the business has strong unit economics. The service is designed to be anti-browse—customers select types and sizes and stylists assemble the box—positioning it as a lower-cost, StitchFix-like experience without subscriptions. Kids on 45th recently launched a buy-back program and cites sustainability as a core benefit; it plans to validate the model in kids clothing before exploring other verticals and has no concrete plans to open more physical stores.
