Kilimo Fresh is an agri-tech startup and digital distributor of fresh produce to hotels, restaurants, supermarkets, institutions, wholesalers and export markets. The company is developing digital farming solutions alongside its distribution channels. Kilimo Fresh was named the winner of the MEST Africa Challenge and will receive a US$50,000 equity investment. As the competition winner it will also gain Microsoft support, coaching, and access to a continent-wide network of startup hubs. The MEST Africa Challenge is run by a pan-African training programme, seed fund, incubator and hub and targets post-revenue, tech-enabled startups seeking expansion into new markets. Kilimo Fresh will now benefit from MEST support and funding to advance its digital farming solutions and scale its market reach.
