King Children
40 Park St, Brooklyn, New York, 11206, United States
Overview
King Children creates fully customizable, 3D-printed eyewear using an iPhone app that performs millimeter-accurate face scans (leveraging Apple Depth Control) to enable hyper-realistic virtual try-on and precise adjustments to fit. Customers can personalize frame size, lens height/width, nose bridge, frame wrap, nose pad position, temple length and pantoscopic tilt, then choose sun or prescription lenses; Blue Block lenses are an additional $30. Frames are 3D printed to order, described as extra-durable, scratch-resistant and anti-reflective, and are delivered in as little as two weeks. The product is positioned at an attainable price point ($125) while emphasizing inclusivity across genders and ethnicities. King Children was founded by Sahir Zaveri (CEO) and Dave Lee (CTO) and has also launched a King Children Residency program to support creatives and build a community around the brand. To date the company has raised $2 million from investors named in the announcement.
