Kingdom Technologies develops fully electric robotic lawn mowers designed for large lawns, campuses, parks and sports fields using proprietary positioning, mapping and path-planning technology. Their robots use efficient, human-like cutting trajectories (rather than random patterns) and can currently cut heights typically between 20–60 mm while covering up to 70,000 m² per week. The company plans a new mower version that can cut up to 100 mm and handle rougher terrain, and expects to produce more than 100 units this year. The business has nearly 400 pre-orders from customers across the UK, Europe and the US. The company has received support from the European Regional Development Fund through Glasgow City Council, the University of Glasgow, and has won the Scottish Edge Wild Card and an RSE Unlocking Ambition Enterprise Fellowship. Kingdom plans to scale manufacturing and expand internationally, with a particular focus on the US.
