Kitman Labs builds an artificial intelligence platform that analyzes data teams collect on players across practices, training, games, sleep, and other situations. The platform is used to predict injury risk, inform practice and game plans, and evaluate talent and performance drivers. Founded in 2012, the company works with more than 700 college and professional teams worldwide. Kitman is based in Menlo Park and currently has 125 employees. The company plans to use most of its recent funding to invest in its technology and to hire an additional 100 employees within the next 10 months. Since founding, Kitman has raised $82 million in outside funding to date. Kitman Labs builds performance intelligence solutions that use data, medical and sports-science expertise to increase athlete availability and on-field success. The platform leverages over 200 years of performance, medical and data-science expertise and currently powers more than 150 elite teams across the NFL, NHL, MLB, UFC, NCAA, English Premier League, Bundesliga, Pro14, Premiership Rugby, NRL, Chinese Super League and others. The company launched an analytics-powered performance solution in 2019 and recently announced global expansion plans. Kitman Labs acquired The Sports Office, a Wigan, UK-based data and analytics company, to bolster its capabilities for governing bodies, leagues, teams and development organizations. Founded in 2012, the company is based in Dublin and Menlo Park and also has offices in Sydney. Recent strategic investments and the new Sony Innovation Fund backing are intended to accelerate Kitman Labs’ growth and product roadmap. The amount of the Sony investment was not disclosed. Kitman Labs builds a modern Performance Intelligence Platform combining statistical and machine‑learning analytics, real‑time athlete management, API integrations, and dynamic visualizations to turn data into actionable decisions for teams. The company emphasizes outcome‑driven analytics and has positioned its platform as more than a data centralization tool, including a consumer‑grade UI focused on speed and simplicity. In 2019 Kitman reported it had more than doubled new sales and Annual Recurring Revenue and closed an additional $5.1M in funding. Kitman serves over 150 elite teams across leagues including the NFL, NHL, MLB, English Premier League, Bundesliga, and more, and recently expanded into youth sports, supporting thousands of youth athletes. The company opened new markets in Italy’s Serie A, Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball, and China’s CSL and added new professional teams across multiple leagues. Kitman also earned ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification for its information security management system, underscoring its focus on protecting athlete data.
