Overview

KlearNow provides a smart Logistics as a Service (LaaS) platform that connects data, people, processes, and organizations to increase visibility and reduce logistics costs. Its AI-powered system digitizes complex paper-based import/export workflows, reducing manual entry times and human errors. The company recently added a drayage marketplace and combines customs clearance and drayage marketplaces to offer a single view of multi-leg shipments. KlearNow says it has expanded into Canada and launched a UK service in January 2021 to support UK and EU businesses post-Brexit. Since its $16M Series A in January 2020, the company reports a tenfold increase in customer base and a more than 50x increase in monthly revenue run rate. It plans to use new funds to accelerate technology development and deployment, expand geographically, and invest in talent. KlearNow has built a digital, agnostic customs-clearance platform that lets importers, brokers and freight forwarders integrate with local customs authorities and transact in real time. The platform automates data entry, reduces errors and claims to cut customs clearance times from hours to minutes. KlearNow is certified to handle any import into the U.S. and is close to certification in Canada and the U.K.; it plans expansion into the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain and Germany. The company has about two dozen customers and has added capabilities such as an expedited FDA module for medical supplies, plus temporary free clearance for nonprofit organizations importing PPE. KlearNow says it will use the funding to expand its geographic reach and improve its product to cover more complex export-import verticals and time-sensitive shipments.
