Klevio has launched its first product, the Klevio One, a smart intercom designed to be retrofitted to existing electric strike-enabled locks and to interface with communal apartment intercom systems. The device targets flats by adding connectivity to tried-and-tested electric strike technology rather than replacing locks with motorized smart locks. Klevio One is cloud-connected and controlled through iOS and Android apps, enabling remote door opening as well as virtual and one-time use keys while preserving physical keys as a backup. The product is offered in a Wi-Fi only version and a subscription version with added 4G connectivity, and has begun a wider launch with orders available via Klevio’s website. Prior to the wider launch it was piloted with 1,000 users across London. To date Klevio has raised £1.2 million in funding; investors named in the article include Greg Marsh and Robin Klein.
