Overview
KnexxLocal is a Toronto-based startup that launched Instamonial, a free iOS app aimed at local, word-of-mouth marketing. Instamonial enables small businesses to create “instamonials,” micro-testimonials built from customer photos that can be emailed for approval and shared on social networks. The app supports one-click distribution and can automatically post testimonials across Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Pinterest, with customization to improve presentation. KnexxLocal announced a $1.1M seed funding round to help expand its customer base. Investors in the round include Bruce Coxon (LavaLife co‑founder and Dragon’s Den star). Founder Paul Chen, whose prior ventures FloNetwork and Fortiva were acquired, plans to use the brand and funding to continue providing solutions that help businesses connect with more local customers.
