Overview
Knotch provides marketing intelligence tools that collect audience feedback on digital content using a color-based feedback system combined with demographics and engagement metrics. Its product set includes competitive intelligence and Blueprint, which helps marketers identify the best publishers for sponsored content. Founder and CEO Anda Gansca says the company aims to act as a “Switzerland of data,” giving brands transparent performance data across paid and owned channels and helping optimize creative themes, topics, and formats. Customers include JP Morgan Chase, AT&T, Ally Bank, Ford, Calvin Klein and Salesforce. Knotch has shifted from an early consumer opinion product to a B2B marketing and data company and has shown traction with enterprise clients. Financially, Knotch has now raised a total of $34 million, including the recently announced financing. Knotch offers the Knotch Intelligence Suite for Brands, a SaaS platform that delivers real-time, independent intelligence and comparative views into brands' digital marketing and competitor content. The product provides pre- and post-campaign analytics, lets marketers search and follow content creators, identify top-performing content, optimize content lifespan, and increase share of voice. Knotch emphasizes an engaging user experience to keep marketers active on the platform. Financially, the company operates on a subscription license model and recently closed a $10M Series A. The round included participation from the majority of previous investors and added strategic personal investors. Knotch relocated from San Francisco to New York City to be closer to media and brand clients. The company plans to use the funding to build its data science team and to integrate with additional platforms and data pipelines as it pursues becoming a destination for actionable marketing intelligence. Knotch provides a platform that captures users’ thoughts and enables them to share and connect with like-minded users, often outside their existing social graph. Identity on Knotch is defined by a collection of interests, thoughts and opinions and drives how users interact on the platform. The company recently relaunched an updated iPhone app, Knotch 1.5, with a new feed experience that separates people a user follows from topics they follow. Knotch plans to use the new funding to hire developers, roll out a web version of the product and release a solution for media companies to integrate with. Co-founded in 2012 by CEO Anda Gansca and CTO Stephanie Volftsun, the company is based in San Francisco, CA. The round brought the total amount raised to date to $1.9m.
