Its platform scales anytime, anywhere professional learning to build teacher capacity and delivers curriculum-aligned content in English, French and Spanish. The proprietary technology uses data to track each student’s progress, provide real-time insights on learning gaps, and help teachers adjust instruction and monitor student progress. The company partners with global education brands and research institutions and collaborates with Ministries and Departments of Education as well as individual school districts. Knowledgehook currently empowers educators across more than 100,000 schools. The company intends to use the funds from the recent round to expand operations and broaden its business reach. Knowledgehook provides a data-driven platform that surfaces which math concepts students are struggling with, diagnoses why, and suggests how teachers can support individual learners. In 2016 the platform generated more than 6,000 recommendations to help teachers close students' learning gaps. The company says the new financing will fund the platform’s expansion into global markets, with planned entries including the United Kingdom and Australia. Knowledgehook has received recognition such as Google’s Game Changer Award (May 2016) and was named BNN’s Top Disruptor. The company was founded in 2014 and has benefited from mentorship programs at Communitech and the Accelerator Centre as well as funding from the Ontario Centres for Excellence.
