Kobalt is a Vancouver-based cybersecurity startup that aims to bring enterprise-class security monitoring capabilities to smaller organizations. The company builds on existing frameworks and toolsets, combining cloud infrastructure and data-at-scale to address the complexity of cybersecurity. Kobalt unveiled its product on April 29 and has begun onboarding its first customers. The startup was incubated by Version One Ventures, which invests in machine learning and SaaS companies and recently closed a C$57M Fund III. Kobalt recently raised a C$1M founders round led by co-founders Pankaj Agarwal and Boris Wertz with participation from Version One Ventures. CEO and co-founder Michael Argast credited Agarwal’s and Wertz’s involvement as a key reason he embarked on the endeavour.
