Komgo is a software platform that digitalises commodity trade finance, automating finance transactions and providing a secure environment for banks, traders and other participants. Its products include Konsole, which consolidates trade finance exchanges and is available to ING clients in Europe and Asia, with plans to expand to U.S. clients. Komgo plans to use recent funding to accelerate expansion and invest in customer-success teams to support clients worldwide. It also intends to refine its products and trade finance applications such as borrowing base facilities, contract renewals, stock reconciliation and secure digital documents. The company reported a 50% increase in trade finance transactions on its platform and a 65% increase in clients over the past year, driven by surging demand for digital services during the pandemic. Komgo was launched in 2018 by a group of around 15 banks, commodity houses and trading companies following blockchain-based proofs of concept and related work such as Vakt.
