Koobz
Ventura, California, United States, North America
Overview
Koobz operates a digital platform and localized manufacturing system that converts footwear designs into finished products using a farm of 3D printers. The company standardized on Bambu Lab H2D printers and prints flexible, wear‑resistant TPU materials, supported by proprietary software that optimizes print preparation for shoes. After raising $7.2 million in seed funding, Koobz grew from a garage project into a nearly 1,000 m² production site in Ventura, California, and expanded its printer fleet from about 50 to roughly 100 units. It projects more than 500 printers by the end of 2026 and long‑term plans for several thousand units, targeting production above 200,000 pairs per year in the near term and 2–4 million pairs annually at full automation. The company is developing robotics and AI for automated post‑processing and production management, has filed several patent applications for its technologies, and aims to integrate equipment, software and logistics into a unified digital manufacturing ecosystem.
