Koovee
48 Boulevard Longchamp, Marseille, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, 13001, France
Overview
Koovee makes edible cutlery from flour, rapeseed oil, salt and natural flavours, offering forks and spoons with a cracker-like texture in natural, almond and Herbs de Provence varieties. The utensils are organic, sturdy enough for any meal and can withstand hot liquids—lasting more than five minutes when submerged in 70°C water. The product biodegrades in a few days and can be eaten as a post-meal snack, positioning it as an alternative to bioplastics, wood cutlery, and reusable silverware for on-the-go use. The concept was developed by Tiphaine Guerout, an ecologist and Sciences Po graduate. Koovee currently produces more than 7,000 pieces of cutlery daily and serves several commercial customers. The company says it hopes to scale across Europe to supply restaurants and supermarkets.
