Overview
Kountable is a global trade and technology platform that delivers transparency and auditability with data-driven insights and real-time transaction information where SMEs work with enterprise-level suppliers and buyers. The company facilitates business between qualified SMEs and multinational suppliers to efficiently complete large-scale projects for governments, NGOs and corporations. It will use the new capital to scale its business in global healthcare supply chains with a specific focus on pandemic response, further enhance its trade and treasury cloud platform, and launch a U.S. membership offering focused on supplier diversity and inclusive supply chains. The recent round also provided the initial capitalization of Kountable Capital Solutions. Led by CEO Christopher Hale, Kountable was launched in 2015 and maintains offices in San Francisco, Nairobi, Kigali and The Hague. Kountable operates a mobile finance platform that identifies and validates quality entrepreneurs among small and medium enterprises and synchronizes logistics while providing trade financing. The app targets SMEs that service governments, universities, hospitals, hotels, manufacturers, NGOs and other large enterprises. Kountable leverages business and social connections to facilitate global trade and currently offers its platform to entrepreneurs in Rwanda. Led by founder and CEO Chris Hale, the company aims to expand its channel capabilities and global presence through enterprise partnerships. Financially, Kountable previously raised $6m in early-stage financing to hire development talent and scale operations. The new financing is intended to enable the company to grow as a significant player in the trade-finance market.
