KOVE is developing a patented surgical device intended to reduce damage to the foetal membrane during foetal surgery and enable safer in‑womb treatments. The founder, Yannick Devaud, is a University of Zurich BioEntrepreneur Fellow. KOVE and the University Hospital of Zurich successfully tested the device’s feasibility on pregnant sheep. The company plans long‑term in vivo trials next and intends to raise a seed round next year. To accelerate development KOVE received a CHF150,000 award from Venture Kick. The startup has previously obtained grants and support from Gebert Rüf Stiftung’s InnoBooster and the Swiss National Science Foundation’s BRIDGE programs.
