Overview
Kryo, known for the ChiliSleep brand and the chiliPAD temperature‑regulating mattress device, focuses on improving sleep through temperature regulation. The company has merged with sleep‑tech maker Ebb Therapeutics, whose products include a cooling headband. Kryo plans to launch a software platform called Sleep.me in May that will combine community, content and coaching with free and paid tiers. Coaching on the platform will draw on Ebb’s existing coaching service while Kryo continues to sell ChiliSleep hardware. Kryo says the merger produces a complementary portfolio and combined patents. The company maintains a medical advisory board that includes Dr. Michael Grandner, Dr. Chris Winter and Dr. Kelly Starrett. Kryo offers the Kryo Sleep Performance System, an app-controlled smart mattress topper that optimizes sleep through individualized temperature management. The topper can reach as high as 100 degrees and as low as 60 degrees. It uses each individual’s sleep data, is compatible with fitness trackers, can learn sleeping habits, and can warm a user awake. The company is targeting athletes, bio-hackers and consumers seeking enhanced overall sleep quality. Kryo was founded by Todd and Tara Youngblood; Todd co-founded Chili Technology and the ChiliPad. The Mooresville-based company recently raised $1.3M in a private equity offering and is seeking an additional $1.2M, according to an SEC filing.
