Kubermatic is a five-year-old Hamburg-based company that helps enterprises automate Kubernetes management and deployment across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments. The firm rebranded from Loodse last June and open-sourced its core Kubermatic Kubernetes Platform (KKP) under an Apache 2.0 license. Its platform provides a self-service interface for developers to deploy clusters across any infrastructure and a centralized dashboard to manage workloads. Features include automated deployments, upgrades, policy compliance, and integrated metrics via built-in Prometheus and Grafana. Kubermatic highlights a "Kubernetes-in-Kubernetes" architecture it says consumes only a fraction of resources versus competitors and offers a wide set of integrations out of the box. Customers include Allianz, Lufthansa, and Siemens, and the company plans to use recent funding to increase adoption and expand its enterprise customer base internationally.
