Kura MD

140 Diamond Creek Place #16, Roseville, CA, 95747, United States

Overview

Kura MD offers a workers' compensation telehealth platform delivered as SaaS, with an EHR designed for workers' comp and integrated features such as utilization review (UR), RFA generation, e-billing, claims tracking to MMI, and auto-generated state-specific forms and reports. The platform replicates the in‑office visit from check-in through discharge, supports phone and online access via smartphone, tablet, or computer, and is open 24/365. Kura MD had been providing telehealth services directly to employers for three years and in August obtained new investor funding, instituted a new board, and launched its SaaS business model to make the platform commercially available nationwide. The company aims to enable brick-and-mortar occupational medicine clinics to become "click-and-mortar" clinics and to build a national virtual physician network to cover all 50 states. Kura MD also supports employers for non-work-related illness or injury and offers quick-start onboarding that can enable providers to begin seeing injured workers online in less than 30 days. Founded in 2013 and based in Roseville, California, the company said it is poised for significant growth and expansion in 2020. Kura MD provides the Kura MD telemedicine system, a web‑based telehealth platform designed to enable HIPAA‑compliant appointments between physicians and patients via computer, smartphone or tablet 24/7. The platform incorporates electronic medical records (EMR), an interface hub, registration and verification, billing and claims, and video conferencing. It also supports integration of peripheral equipment, practice management systems and offers an optional health station. The system is aimed at individual physicians, physician groups, urgent care providers and workers’ compensation practitioners. Led by Founder and CEO Kevin Hamm, the company plans to use newly raised funds to roll out its system. Financially, Kura MD secured a $1.5M Series A financing to support that rollout.
