Kurio is an Indonesian news‑reader app that aggregates content from more than 200 media partners and claims roughly 600,000 downloads (about 90% on Android). The product focuses on mobile news distribution and is building a publisher dashboard and an interest/preference graph to provide richer audience data. Kurio plans to test advertising (in‑app and in‑article) with selected partners and to use data tools to help publishers monetize mobile audiences. The company has ambitions to scale across Southeast Asia (initially markets using the Roman alphabet) and ultimately pursue a public listing. Kurio has previously taken investment from CyberAgent Ventures and pursued Japanese investors during a funding trip.
