LabCycle is a UK-based startup developing AutoDecon, a system designed to safely recycle contaminated laboratory plastics into high-grade resources without using high heat or pressure. The company's stated mission is to create a circular economy for single-use lab plastics and significantly reduce carbon emissions from current incineration practices. LabCycle was co-founded by Dr Helen Liang, whose PhD work inspired the effort, and is led by co-founder & CEO Colin Francis. It currently operates under commercial contracts with the NHS, private companies and universities.
