Labforward develops digital software solutions for laboratories, including the Labfolder electronic lab notebook (ELN) and the Laboperator Internet-of-Things (IoT) platform. Labfolder is used by more than 40,000 international scientists to capture, share, retrieve and validate data. Laboperator can control and monitor lab instruments, execute structured workflows and store data centrally for integration with ELNs or LIMS. The company emphasizes a vendor-independent, instrument-agnostic approach to help labs automate processes and improve efficiency. Demand for its collaboration and automation solutions increased during the COVID-19 crisis. With additional funding, Labforward plans to expand its team and build a showroom lab in Berlin to demonstrate networked, fully digitized labs and test innovations. The company was formed in May 2019 through the merger of labfolder GmbH and cubuslab GmbH.
