Laflamme Aéro

134 Av. Saint-Patrick, C.P. 2025, Saint-Joseph-de-Coleraine, Quebec, G0N 1B0, Canada

Overview

Laflamme Aéro develops the LX300, an unmanned helicopter-type drone designed for heavy-lift and long-endurance missions. The article reports the LX300 can carry 90 kilos (200 lb.) and elsewhere describes it “with its 300 kilos,” and it claims about eight hours of flight autonomy. Developed by the family business since 2013, the LX300 uses a tandem rotor system for vertical takeoff and landing and can be fitted with surveillance cameras or payloads to service hard-to-reach areas. The company plans to market the LX300 in 2020 and will use new financing to support commercial deployment, improve infrastructure, establish an assembly line, add staff, and continue R&D on new products. Laflamme Aéro has completed numerous flight tests and has a cooperation agreement with General Dynamics Mission Systems as well as support from Transport Canada for certification. The recent $2 million investment is intended to help promote the LX300 to national and international markets.
