Landing
1699 Bayshore Highway, Burlingame, CA, 94010, United States
Overview
Founded in 2019 by Stanford GSB classmates Miri Buckland and Ellie Buckingham, Landing operates a web-based and soon-to-be mobile platform that lets users design, share, comment on, and shop from digital vision boards. Positioning itself as a community-oriented alternative to Pinterest, the company emphasizes “collective media” by encouraging communal discovery and interaction around lifestyle inspiration. Gen Z women represent roughly 80-90% of the user base, and to date users have opened 160,000 accounts, produced 400,000 boards, and uploaded 3 million images. Hundreds of new boards are added daily, reflecting the high engagement velocity among its primary demographic. The boards are also commerce-enabled, allowing users to hover over items and initiate purchases, hinting at future monetization through social shopping. A native mobile app is in beta and slated for official release in early 2023, and the founders are exploring in-person community experiences as an expansion path. Landing has raised $3 million in seed funding to support product development and growth.
