Last Gameboard
2401 Bruce Randolph Ave, Denver, CO, 80205-4174, United States
Overview
The Last Gameboard makes a 16-inch square touchscreen device paired with a custom OS that detects taps, object outlines, gestures and movements above the screen to create a hybrid tabletop experience. Its approach uses ordinary capacitive touch sampled at a higher framerate plus machine learning to characterize and track passive and active game pieces. The company has secured partnerships with major tabletop publishers and developers, including Asmodee Digital, Dire Wolf Digital, Nomad Games, Restoration Games, Steve Jackson Games and others to bring popular titles to the platform. The device is priced at $699, and the company plans both individual game purchases and an unlimited-access subscription model (pricing TBD). The OS is built to support connected play between devices and to ease porting of Android-based versions while preserving native interaction capabilities. The Last Gameboard aims to run a beta over the summer and ship first production units before the holiday season.
