LATYS develops a patented drop-in metasurface antenna that passively repeats and focuses wireless signals to extend range and avoid interference. The device is signal-agnostic, operating from sub-7 GHz to mmWave 5G, uses off-the-shelf components, and fits a thin, small form factor. LATYS’ passive approach isolates signals in space rather than broadcasting omnidirectionally, which the company says avoids the bandwidth-halving and latency of traditional mesh hops. Field trials demonstrated more than a 4x increase in throughput for existing router networks and over 300% improvement in dead-zone throughput, while reducing network energy usage by more than 8x. The product targets 5G, IoT, Wi‑Fi, and Industry 4.0 use cases, and LATYS plans to commercialize its first-generation product for customers facing range and interference limits.
