Overview
LaunchNotes was founded in 2019 to address shortcomings in traditional release notes by delivering tailored product-change communications to different internal and external audiences. The core product centralizes comms, feedback and planning into what the company calls a product success platform. It integrates customer feedback and plans automated connectors to CRM, Slack, Intercom and other customer-data tools. The company produced version 1 in May 2020 and has grown headcount from eight to 15 while monitoring hiring carefully. Last year LaunchNotes reported 650% revenue growth, 300% new-customer growth, and reached over 500,000 users per month. The team intends to use its new funding to build out the platform vision and expand product capabilities. LaunchNotes offers a communications platform that centralizes and publishes software release notes and updates for internal and external audiences. The product aims to become a system of record for product teams by aggregating change status that today lives across Jira, Trello, Sheets, Airtable and Slack. The team plans roadmap features targeted at larger enterprise customers, including integrations with issue trackers starting with Jira, single sign-on, improved team management, and connectors for feature-flagging and git tools. LaunchNotes recently revamped its free tier to allow public embeds, greater customization of public streams, and removed subscriber limits to lower barriers to adoption. Financially, the company announced a $1.8M seed raise and reported about 100 active users three months after launch. The founding team includes veterans from Statuspage and the former head of marketing for Jira, which the company says influenced investor interest.
