Laura developed Pronto Atendimento Digital (P.A. Digital), an AI conversational interface that identifies and remotely monitors suspected COVID‑19 cases through municipal websites with a 15‑day follow‑up. Launched in April 2020, the platform triages symptoms, routes severe cases to in‑person care, advises mild cases to remain home, and offers tele‑nursing and embedded teleconsultations for moderate risk. The solution has been deployed in 25 health institutions through partnerships with municipalities and health operators and has provided digital care to more than 160,000 people. Laura will receive a US$128,000 financial award from BID Lab to implement its AI in up to five municipalities and 10 emergency units across public and private networks. The funding will also support expansion into broader primary‑care use via a P.A. Generalista module to triage and follow other diseases in cities including Curitiba, São Bernardo do Campo and Catanduva. The project was submitted by Instituto Laura Fressatto (the startup's philanthropic arm) and impact will be measured by the company's research team in collaboration with academic partners.
