Lazarus Effect is a Campbell, Calif.-based medical device company focused on developing novel interventional devices to facilitate removal of blood clots. The company is building a complete portfolio of vascular-device products based on a patented wire-frame technology platform and is led by chairman and CEO Martin Dieck. It holds five issued US patents and has numerous pending US and worldwide patent applications. The Lazarus Funnel Guide Catheter and Lazarus ReCover devices have CE Mark for use in Europe, and the Funnel is cleared for use in the United States. The Lazarus Cover is pending CE Mark, and neither the ReCover nor the Cover are approved for sale in the United States. Proceeds from the $5m financing will support EU commercialization of several approved devices and regulatory filings for the Lazarus ReCover and Lazarus Cover in the United States.
