Overview
LeanXcale, a 2015 spin-off from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid located in Madrid, develops an ultra-scalable database manager paired with an analytic engine that operates directly on operational data. The company is building a storage engine called KiVi, and it plans to use newly raised funds to complete KiVi, with a launch planned before summer 2017. Product focus is on high-scale database and analytics capabilities for operational workloads. Earlier funding and support came from EU Seventh Framework Programme grants, national IT projects, the Madri+d program, and initial backing from the EIT Digital accelerator. The current financing round is intended to advance product development rather than address reported operating metrics. The team has supplemented external investment with capital from its promoter and co-founder.
