LearnSprout offers a freemium big-data analytics dashboard that connects to legacy Student Information Systems (SIS) to surface multi-year trends on attendance, college readiness and student health. The product is designed for non-technical users and claims to tap live SIS data without adding processing load. Since launching the LearnSprout Dashboard nine months ago, the company says it has analyzed data for more than 2,000 schools in 47 states and nine countries and expects to reach 5,000 schools by year-end. It is launching a college readiness dashboard for counselors and announced an integration with Infinite Campus, which it says broadens potential reach to a further 20 million students. The company is using the new funding to accelerate development of predictive analytics to identify students at risk of dropping out and to speed a premium offering planned for 2015 to begin monetizing the freemium model. LearnSprout emphasizes FERPA compliance and a pledge that PII will never be shared, sold, mined or used for marketing purposes.
