Leash Biosciences applies artificial intelligence and machine learning to accelerate medicinal chemistry and the design of novel small-molecule therapeutics. The company combines ML with large chemical and biological datasets to predict protein-chemical interactions and rapidly generate candidate compounds. Leash reports it has physically generated over 17 billion high-quality protein-chemical interaction measurements to date. Headed by CEO Ian Quigley, the company is based in Salt Lake City, Utah and recently established new headquarters there. Leash plans to screen 500+ protein targets against many millions of machine learning-designed, proprietary chemicals by 2025. The recent financing will support development of a foundational machine learning model of medicinal chemistry intended to predict small-molecule drug candidates for any protein.
