Left Hand Robotics

1880 Industrial Circle Suite E, Longmont, Colorado, 80501, United States

Overview

Left Hand Robotics builds self-driving outdoor robots that clear snow and mow grass for commercial customers. Its driverless robotic tractor uses GPS, sensors, and internet connectivity to follow preprogrammed paths, stop for obstacles, take photographs and upload them to a data center to notify site monitors. The machine features a rotating broom, a deicer salt-drop component, and a mower attachment option; a starter robot is priced at $55,000 with an annual software and support subscription of $4,250. Founded in 2016 by Terry Olkin and Mike Ott and assembled in Longmont, the company has sold units to the city and other commercial customers. CEO Terry Olkin said the new funding will be used to scale the business and hire marketing, sales, support and engineering staff, with plans to grow headcount from 17 to at least 30 within six months. Olkin previously founded Sigaba and Gridcraft, both of which were acquired, and brings prior startup exit experience to the company.
