Legend is a decentralized finance startup founded by three former Compound executives, including ex-CEO Jayson Hobby, to simplify how investors access and manage crypto assets. Its upcoming mobile application embeds a self-custody wallet and pre-integrates leading DeFi protocols such as Uniswap, 0x, Compound and Morpho, creating a vetted “walled garden” where users can lend, borrow, swap and transfer tokens without leaving the app. By eliminating the need to juggle several browser extensions or websites, Legend aims to offer a safer, more convenient alternative to wallets like MetaMask or Coinbase Wallet. The product is currently in a test phase, with the team focused on securing Apple App Store approval and building an initial user base. Longer term, the company expects to monetize through subscription fees rather than issuing a native token. Proceeds from its recent financing will be used to expand headcount and fund marketing as it readies the public launch.
