Legion M is a fan-owned entertainment company based in Emeryville, CA that works with Hollywood creators to produce movies, TV, VR and more. The company crowdfunds ownership and involvement from fans and offers behind-the-scenes access as part of its model. In August 2016 Legion M completed a Title III (Reg CF) crowdfunding raise of $1 million on Wefunder from a record-breaking 3,000+ investors. The raise set records for Title III offerings in terms of investor count and total investment interest, with demand above the SEC funding cap. Legion M lists creative partners including Stoopid Buddy Stoodios, 42 Entertainment, Meltdown Comics and Alamo Drafthouse. The company says it intends to pursue further rounds of financing and to continue expanding fan participation.
