Legit.Health developed a CE-certified medical device that applies AI and computer vision to analyze smartphone photographs and automatically detect up to 323 skin conditions, including melanoma and basal cell carcinoma. The system measures severity and supports clinicians in choosing optimal treatments, and the technology has been trained on images collected since 2014. The company reports more than 2,500 healthcare professionals using its platform in Europe and China. Legit.Health originated as a research project at the University of the Basque Country (UPV) and is led by CEO Andy Aguilar and Chief AI Officer Alfonso Medela. Its algorithms have been clinically validated in studies at Hospital Universitario de Cruces and Hospital de Basurto, and the platform was integrated into the SESPA primary care network in October 2025. Legit.Health is pursuing FDA certification and has received recognition including the EmprendeXXI 2024 award, the National Innovation Award 2021, and selection by the Lanzadera accelerator.
