Lemontree runs the Puffin service and Puffin Card to provide allowance management and financial education for minors. The company obtained an electronic financial-business license in January of last year and launched its Puffin Card. Within a year of launch the Puffin service surpassed 230,000 users, issued 120,000 cards, and recorded cumulative top-ups of ₩35 billion. In February the company introduced a paid 'Plus Membership' subscription, which saw roughly tenfold growth in paid subscribers. Lemontree plans to use product partnerships to expand features and content — including a stock-investing function and education with Shinhan Investment and savings functionality and education with KB Kookmin Bank — and to further develop its membership model. The company says its goal is to help parents manage children's spending, savings, and investment and to provide engaging, systematic financial education to accelerate children's financial independence.
